Making the first step toward change can be very hard, it may be that you have fears about the risk of not being understood or the process being intrusive, you can take comfort from the fact that therapy is not about extracting information, counsellors and psychotherapists work with what you present and more importantly, at your pace.
It is often easier to stay with the status quo unless things have got desperate and out of control, often it makes much more sense to embark on therapy before issues become entrenched and require more intense work. Either way it make sense not to carry on with the way things are, many people find counselling and psychotherapy a hugely positive experience.
