Hi there, I am an experienced Clinical Psychologist, trained to understand the different ways in which psychological distress can present itself and impact upon people’s lives. The breadth of my training and clinical experience enables me to draw upon different therapeutic approaches, thus allowing for a flexible approach, tailored to a person's needs and own set of circumstances. I will aim to help you better understand the underlying causes of your difficulties, supporting you along the way to make meaningful changes in the way you approach difficult situations in your work, with your partner or family, and in your social life.
I have nearly ten years experience of working in mental health services within the NHS, delivering therapeutic interventions for a range of difficulties linked with anxiety and depression. I also have experience of working in more specialist services, using Acceptance and Commitment Therapy to support people with adjustment to long-term health conditions.
A major interest of mine is to consider distress from a relational perspective - particularly how repeated patterns of interaction may be reinforcing low self-esteem and maintaining unhappiness and distress. I have experience in my clinical work of focusing on relational difficulties between couples or between inter-generational family members.
