Life can be full of uncanny sensations or unpleasant feelings. These feelings sometimes become unbearable and overwhelming, making each day a challenge. There are many different potential causes for our distress. Sometimes they can stem from confusion over choices we are forced to make, or from the questions that arise when we think about who we are, or what we want. Finding a safe, welcoming space to address a painful or peculiar experience in life can be challenging. When we ask for help, we have already made a choice to pursue a change.

Adults and Couples Therapy. I’m practicing from a new private room in between Balham and Tooting and also online! I also practice from Harley st please get in touch for times and days. It’s never too late to look at those patterns that have been there for a lifetime. Maybe they are affecting your relationship? Creating barriers? Maybe you’d like to break free and learn how to cope better with them?

If you're facing difficulties such as anxiety or depression, the impact of past experiences or traumas, relationship issues, a period of transition or change in your life, challenges related to your sense of self or identity, or even grief and loss, I can assist you in addressing these issues through Gestalt therapy. Gestalt therapy is a relational and body-centered psychotherapy approach that offers the opportunity for growth and change. It is based on a therapeutic relationship of acceptance, respect, and mutual support.

Choosing a counsellor is a big step which can feel daunting. How do you find the therapist who will be right for you? If you are new to counselling, the various theoretical approaches listed by therapists can be confusing. Current research shows that more important than the theory is the therapeutic relationship (the relationship between you and me) and this is the cornerstone of my work. My theoretical approach is Integrative, drawing on the Psycho-dynamic, Humanistic and Existential schools within a relational working model which emphasizes the Humanistic philosophy and embraces Person Centered core process.

I offer a safe and non-judgmental space that enables exploration of feelings and experiences. As an integrative therapist also trained in EMDR and Somatics, I draw on several therapeutic schools of thought to support each person in feeling able to live the life they wish for. As a queer counsellor I’m committed to making therapy a safe space for all.

Searching online for a therapist might not be easy, but finding a good fit is essential to feel safe and get the most out of your effort, time, and money. If you are reading this... ...then the chances are, something is troubling you, something is not right, something is not working for you right now in your life. So, something needs to be addressed, acknowledged, processed, changed and healed in order for you to move forward with your life. You have the opportunity in therapy to learn how to reassert control over your heart, mind, body and soul. ...and that's where I can help!

I work relationally with the clients I see, aiming to build a shared understanding of their difficulties. Using integrative techniques (including evidence based psychodynamic, existential, humanistic & cognitive behavioural modalities) I focus on encouraging individuals/couples to identify their existing challenges, build an understanding of themselves & their situation, & reflect on why they may feel the way they do. Through this process it is possible to build long term resilience & a more robust sense of self, having identified patterns of relating to others. This includes developing skills & techniques for coping in the future.

I know first hand that taking a first step to speak to a therapist can be challenging. Therefore I will always aim to create an authentic, compassionate, and safe place to collaboratively explore and make sense of the challenges that you are facing, whether it might be stress, adjusting to difficult life experiences, low mood, anxiety, self-esteem or relationship difficulties. I believe everyone is the expert of their own lives and therefore I will work alongside you and offer a style of therapy that meets your individual needs.

Your reasons for coming to therapy will be individual, and keeping that sense of individuality will be central to meeting your needs. You may have hopes of freeing yourself from anxiety, depression, phobias, panic, and a variety of addictions and/or you may wish to find greater fulfilment or meaning in your life. You may long to be less lonely. Historic, or more recent, issues of abuse-mental, physical or sexual-may be involved. A sense of inadequacy or of being fraudulent or inauthentic may figure. I am also a psychosexual and relationship therapist with all that implies.

Did you know 1 out 5 children in the UK experiences mental health challenges that affects their ways of relating with loved ones at some point during their childhood? Getting appropriate support at an early stage is important for children who have experienced physical or emotional trauma. Children struggling with their emotions often act out or become withdrawn. These responses are put down as behaviour issues while in fact they are children's way of communicating to adults that they need support. Music Therapy is the perfect tool for children who are not ready to 'talk it through' to express themselves in ways that motivates them.

Are these problems impacting your relationships, causing you guilt and shame? These thoughts, feelings, and attitudes can begin to affect your mental health, which is why it might be time to talk to someone.

I'm a qualified BACP registered counsellor working since 2016 with people who are finding something in their life difficult to cope with whether that be feelings of anxiety, depression, the loss of a loved one or something else. Perhaps a relationship has come to an end, or you have started feeling very anxious or/and depressed. You might be finding it hard to enjoy your life and feel confused that you feel this way. You might have lost someone you cared about and feel like it's hard to cope, that there is little to look forward to and that it's unclear what is going on and tough to make sense of things.

I believe that as human beings we have the necessary abilities to face our difficulties. However when something interrupts this process, often during childhood, we get stuck in some fixed patterns of behaviour and beliefs about ourselves. As a Gestalt therapist, through the exploration of past events and how they are experienced in the present, I aim to raise awareness on how these patterns are still affecting your present life.
