I work with a range of client experiences and concerns including; anxiety, low mood, addiction, bereavement, work pressures, life changes, behaviour changes personal growth, identity and relationship issues. I will use all of my training and experience to help you to make sense of your thoughts, feelings and experiences and work towards a resolution to the issues that bring you to counselling. I am an experienced BACP registered, accredited counsellor with 15 years+ experience, having worked in a range of counselling settings: primary care mental health, bereavement, sexual abuse and drug and alcohol counselling.
I understand different people need different things at different times, I believe that all approaches to therapy have value, what is key is ensuring you feel respected and accepted, working pluralistically I can integrate elements of CBT, TA and outcome focused-brief work to help you reach your goals.
The first session includes an assessment, which helps me to understand, as fully as possible, you and the problem you are bringing to counselling and to find, the most suitable way of working with you. It is equally important that you have time to decide if you wish to work with me beyond the first session.
