If You're feeling overwhelmed with life, or maybe experiencing anxiety, depression, panic attacks, Psychotherapy can help you to explore what's going on for you and help you begin to understand yourself better, giving you a safe space to have your story heard. You may not know why you feel as you do, you just know that something is not right with you, and that's ok too. For some people trauma in childhood can lead to feelings of not belonging and to difficulties in making and maintaining relationships, psychotherapy could help. I offer trauma informed counselling and psychotherapy to people over 18, both in person and online.
Psychotherapy can involve a lot of talking, but when we get 'stuck' and talking is a challenge a more creative approach can be used. So I offer a variety of creative activities that can help to reach those parts of us that talking on its own may miss. I have art materials, sand tray, Russian dolls and cards, among other things, to engage your creativity.
My background is in nursing, education and foster care. As an ex-boarder and adoptive parent myself, I have a special interest in working with people who were themselves sent to boarding school as children, and also with adults who have been impacted by the Adoption Process, either directly as adopters, adoptees or birth parents, or as wider family members.
