I've supported men and women of all ages (21+) but perhaps you should know I'm a peri-menopausal woman, so I can appreciate the rollercoaster that women 40+ are experiencing both mentally and physically.
Are things just feeling out of kilter? Know something needs to change? Are you unsure what the right support is for your needs? Are you feeling anxious or low mood? Have you lost someone? Has your confidence dropped? In a time like no other, more than ever we need to focus on our mental health and wellbeing and invest in ourselves. The beauty of my practice is recognising your individualisation and tailoring how I can help with your needs through a holistic approach encompassing counselling, CBT, and coaching. We're people, we don't fit into one neat little box! With me you'll have a warm, confidential and safe space to talk.

Therapy is a gift--giving yourself permission to receive, to be heard, and to learn healthy and adaptive ways to be in relationship to self and others. Helping identify and transmute beliefs that no longer serve... from "I'm not good enough" to "I am worthy"; moving from fear to love and acceptance. A space to feel and understand your emotions, and let go. Offering a wholistic, integrative, and person-centered approach to wellness and empowerment while supporting you to find balance, hold boundaries, explore spirituality, and connect to your authentic self--moving out of your head and grounding into your heart, body, and soul.

Counselling is your confidential space to talk. You may be seeking clarity on an issue, or want to explore things that are overwhelming you, and if you wish, make changes in your life. I hope that by talking to a professional during these difficult times can bring peace. I offer a safe space as we unravel together the aspects of you that are struggling or stuck. And help you to find new perspectives to deal with living the way that you want to live.

The world tells us from a young age how to look after our hair, how to eat well, how to have a strong body, but what about what’s happening on the inside? It’s so important to prioritise our mental health because we truly get our glow from the inside. We don’t think twice about going to see our dentist regularly or going for a trim, but yet we often wait until we are on our knees before we consider talking to a counsellor. What I hear clients say so often is ‘I wish I’d done this sooner’. You will never regret putting your mental health front and centre.

Hello, I'm Jill. Do you feel like you’ve lost touch with your authentic self? Would you like to get to know you better, and learn to embrace all the parts that make up who you are? I have a real passion for working with neurodivergent women, towards understanding the whole picture of who you are and unlock any limiting beliefs that are keeping you stuck. As a late-diagnosed ADHD woman, I have lived experience of the journey of self-rediscovery and of making sense of past experiences and relationships through a completely new lens. I am a counsellor and therapeutic coach and can work with you in a holistic way to meet your needs.

Our work together focuses on our relationship and how we experience each other: I believe that it is through establishing an open, trusting and authentic relationship that healing can occur. My training was in Integrative Counselling, covering a wide range of therapeutic approaches, but my own particular areas of interest are in Existential Psychotherapy and Analytic Psychology and Buddhism.

Hello and thanks for taking a look at my profile. I'm an accredited counsellor with a focus on Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT). CBT looks at the impact our thoughts and behaviours have on emotional wellbeing and looks at techniques to change habits that aren't working for us. I work one to one with you to help with issues such as anxiety (including generalised, health, social), depression, stress, work related stress, trauma etc. We work together in a supportive and collaborate way and usually with goal setting focusing on thought and behavioural change.

Whether this is the first time you are seeking therapy or have had therapy before, reaching out can feel overwhelming as therapy itself can be challenging. By its nature, the process entails self-reflection and honest conversation. I understand that, which is why it’s important to me to provide a comfortable space where you feel supported and safe. I'm also a trained couples counsellor and take an integrative approach to couples counselling drawing on tools and techniques from different modalities.

Life can become difficult for many reasons, and we all need support at times. I am caring, empathic and passionate about supporting people to overcome their difficulties. Anxiety, depression, bereavement and loss, trauma, relationship problems, sexual difficulties and low self-esteem are some of the things I can support you with. I have a particular interest in life transitions, especially menopause. However, therapy sessions don’t need to be limited to times of distress. Therapy can give you space to focus on your personal growth. It is a great way to take time to explore yourself, your needs and prioritise self-care.

Female Counsellors

Does it matter what gender my therapist is?

In general, this is not an important factor, as there is no relationship between a therapist’s gender and their efficacy. Some clients, however, prefer to see therapists of a particular gender, whether due to their own past experiences with men and women, or ingrained beliefs about how people of different genders think and behave. Exploring the roots of such preferences and considering what one wants to address in therapy can help someone determine whether their therapist’s gender truly matters to them.

Should I see a female therapist?

Many people—not just women—prefer to see a female therapist, either because they believe that a woman will be able to relate to their specific challenges (for example, sexism in the workplace) or because they imagine feeling more comfortable disclosing sensitive information to a woman. Such beliefs may not turn out to be accurate, however, and adhering too rigidly to a gender preference can at times hinder a client from finding the best therapeutic match.

Do therapists get specific training to help with women’s concerns?

Therapists are trained to provide care to clients of any gender. However, some therapists—both men and women—may pursue additional training in feminist therapy, gender-specific issues, or women’s mental health. Female clients may wish to ask prospective therapists whether they have received specific training in the client’s primary area(s) of concern, or whether they have worked extensively with women on issues similar to their own.

How can I inquire about a therapist’s experience in treating women?

It’s OK—even encouraged!—to ask a therapist directly whether and how often they have treated women in the past, or whether they have treated women dealing with the client’s most prominent concern(s). Competent therapists will be happy to share their educational background, preferred treatment modalities, and prior client experience to help an individual find the therapist best suited to their needs.
