People tell me that I'm warm, funny and really good with people and I feel I bring this to my client work. I believe that clients need to feel safe and develop a sense of trust before the process of sharing can evolve in to the dynamic process I believe provides the best opportunity for change and developing insight. I think what underpins this is the belief that a tight rope walker wont let go unless they feel they have a safety net to catch them, perhaps clients are the same in that regard. My philosophy of counselling has evolved but what has never changed is my belief in the uniqueness and individuality of clients and progress

Letting go is about learning how to take control, feel better and become more embodied. Change is not easy, but the sages, mystics and wise amongst us know that in order to move forward and live the best version of our lives we need to accept where we are and ask ourselves if this is ok or all we want. When we accept where we are, we can make the decisions necessary for that change we may feel is required. At that point we have already begun the process of Letting-go. It is also a point where you may decide to come & chat to me. ‘Not everything that is faced can be changed, but nothing can be changed until it is faced.’ (J. Baldwin)

I've been a counsellor since 2014 and all of who you are is welcome with me. Grounded in person-centred talk therapy I also work with Polyvagal Theory and Internal Family Systems. As we explore how your early years and ongoing life experience may have shaped your self-beliefs and behaviours you can move towards increased strength and resilience.

Are you seeking therapy because you want to make your life better? It feels like life has always been and uphill battle for you and never felt easy. Anxiety and fear seem to be constant companions that you live with. Maybe you work offshore, a traditionally male environment where feelings and emotions are a sign of weakness and could harm your career. Perhaps your relationships have always been difficult, you struggle to express your feelings and have your voice heard. Perhaps the trauma that you experienced growing up has left you unable to trust people and what they say. You feel stuck and overwhelmed. You would like answers?

We all deserve both psychological and emotional well-being! Yet, sometimes ‘life’ grinds us down, we often lose our emotional resources and the psychological tools required to live a healthy and empowering lifestyle. As a counsellor and psychotherapist, my focus is to support individuals through distress and times of crisis. Whatever your individual situation may be, my aim is to provide you with support in identifying any changes that can positively impact your day-to-day living; whether this be the development of specific skills, a greater understanding of yourself or your feelings.

I specialise in working with children, young people and families, helping to overcome challenges associated with school and mental health difficulties as well as the impact of trauma. My approach is based upon a belief that children and families should be able to access the psychological advice and support they need, when they need it. I understand that accessing professional advice from services can sometimes feel intimidating or impossible due to long waiting lists. I therefore aim to offer an approachable and professional service, and offer home visits for families who prefer a more relaxed and comfortable approach.

Only with knowing yourself as you are and the root of your distress can you make positive changes. Person or client-centred therapy is a talking therapy based on the view that everyone has the capacity and underlying desire for personal growth, given the right conditions. As a therapist, I embody and offer such conditions of unconditional positive regard, empathy, and congruence in order to help you come to terms with any negative or overwhelming feelings and to change, develop, and grow in accordance with the best interests of yourself.

At some point in our lives, we may feel ‘things’ are too much for us to manage alone. Whether, we have experienced trauma, feel anxious or depressed or just don’t know what’s wrong or who we are anymore, it can feel overwhelming. It is important to find someone you feel will listen to you and really hear what you are saying. I offer flexible appointments, for example, weekly, fortnightly.

For anxiety and mood problems we can work together for your recovery. Only evidenced approaches are used so that you can be assured that you are doing the right thing. You are important, and so is your recovery. I have been working successfully in mental health recovery for a number of years, including the teaching and training of other therapists. We begin by having a shared understanding of your problem. We work together using techniques that are demonstrated to be successful. Therapy can be either face-to-face or virtual. it's time to make the right move. it's time to move on, and we can do it! The Future Belongs to You.

In a world where we have so many avenues to communicate with others, it seems like no one is actually listening which can create a sense of loneliness and isolation. You don't want to burden others with your issues, it's too personal, or they have their own. But just having that space for you, regularly, with someone who you know will show empathy, respect and honesty, who will give you time to process issues that are preventing you from moving on is a space you really need.

Hello, I am a Psychotherapist, EMDR practitioner and Dramatherapist. In therapy, participants are supported to use creative expression to set goals, solve problems, express feelings and achieve improved mental health. Together in therapy there will be opportunities to consider how your personal life informs the way you experience the world. My work is influenced by trauma-informed approaches, which allow us to look at ourselves and understand why we may suffer. I am also a qualified secondary school teacher with extensive experience of working with people with trauma, autism, ADHD, anxiety, bereavement and loss.

Life can be complex and from time to time you may look for someone to journey with you and support you for a while as you find a way to deal with certain challenges and difficulties. You may be dealing with difficult emotions like anxiety, depression, anger or worry which is affecting your peace of mind and happiness and would like to explore new skills, strategies and solutions to get through this. Or perhaps you may be looking for ways to enhance your life, build resilience or deal with life changes and transitions. Maybe you would like to find healing from trauma, or deal with intercultural, racial, or spiritual concerns.

We all have times when we have to face challenges and juggle life; this can be a very stressful time. When we are feeling, sad, alone, stressed, anxious, depressed or having relationship worries these can seem overwhelming. You may feel unable to talk to friends or family for fear of being judged. It's at times like these that we may need a helping hand, a safe place to talk, someone to talk to without feeling judged and someone who will listen to you.
