You’re here because you want something in your life to be different. This could be your environments, the way you feel / think about yourself, your relationships with others, and / or your world. It can be difficult to know where to turn and sometimes you can feel very alone, struggling to open up to those around you for fear of being burdensome, not understood or accepted. Therapy is an empowering process, supporting you to become more aware of and connect with yourself and others. Through it you'll reframe past wounds, identify and prioritise your needs, enhancing the feeling of security within yourself and relationships.

Welcome to SeeSpace, a safe, nurturing, person-centred counselling space which is built on the very human - but too often elusive - principles of empathy, compassion and inner wisdom. Here you will be met without judgement or expectation, and supported to explore, share, heal and grow as we begin to understand more about the experiences and relationships which have led you here and the complex challenges, relational patterns and survival strategies you have faced and employed along the way. Together we will work in service to softening the story you bring by creating space for deeper self-awareness, insight and self-compassion.

Trans widows are women, whose partners/husbands believe they have a different gender identity & have decided to transition.
I work with individuals and couples, specialising in relationship counselling, sex therapy and sex addiction & compulsivity therapy. As a relationship counsellor, I support couples with various complex issues, including dealing with the impact of porn addiction on their relationship. Having a partner with porn and/or sex compulsivity can be devastating. I support partners trying to come to terms with the discovery and help them navigate the relationship fall-out.

Our sense of self is coloured by our early experiences and often determines our adult choices, emotional reactions and internal dialogue. We absorb and adapt to the difficulties of our caregivers and circumstances, often filtered through previous generations of adversity. If this is your experience you may feel easily rejected, anxious, judged, angry or inadequate. You may feel a sense of depression, hopelessness, stuck or overwhelmed.

Are you seeking a place where you can truly be heard? I offer therapeutic counseling in a supportive, non-judgmental environment where your voice is genuinely valued. My practice primarily focuses on individuals who have experienced loss, trauma, or are facing crises due to significant life changes—such as relocating to a new country, the end of a relationship, a lost sense of self, or challenges in relationship dynamics. Many of the clients I work with are at a crossroads, searching for their next steps after enduring trauma, long-term stress, or life transitions.

The loss of people or things can bring anxiety and depression as we struggle to take care of our own needs and wellbeing. By focusing on the root of the matter, we can make some lasting and meaningful changes. The way we talk to others and ourselves is a window to what’s going on inside. My counselling space is a place for you to explore what that is. We can be too easily swept up in the day-to-day and in our long ingrained habits and beliefs that it takes dedicated time and focus to unravel what really is causing us pain, the grudges and guilt. I am a supervisor-in-training for BACP counsellors (see website for more).

Having worked in the field of mental health for over 27 years, I have a deep understanding of the challenges people are faced with on a daily basis. How we experience these challenges can become overwhelming and we can feel alone, helpless and disconnected. There may be times when it's useful to seek help outside of your current circle of support by talking with a counsellor and I can help you find new ways to explore and manage the difficulties you are experiencing. I work with individuals & couples to offer short-term counselling to address immediate concerns, and long term counselling to address complex issues.

Perhaps life is feeling increasingly difficult and you don’t fully understand your reactions? Anxiety, stress and the legacy of trauma may weigh you down. It can be hard to make headway against the storm. You may be struggling with symptoms such as ruminating thoughts, panic attacks, difficulty focussing and unpleasant bodily symptoms. Perhaps you recognise repeating patterns. Anxiety reaches into all areas of our life, including personal and professional relationships. The good news is that it's possible to overcome even long-standing issues and reclaim the ability to live life to your fullest potential. There is hope.

I am a psychodynamic counsellor, previously a Clinical Scientist (physicist) in NHS cancer services and more recently, a community educator, working alongside people experiencing multiple disadvantage, trauma, addiction, or exclusion. As a counsellor, I have practiced in two counselling services in the Third Sector where I counselled people experiencing relationship difficulties, anxiety, depression, low self-esteem, loss, grief, trauma, physical ill-health conditions and with caring responsibilities. These experiences, plus life itself, have led me to counselling.

I have always been profoundly curious about others and aim to foster that curiosity in my clients. I am interested in the ways that our families, culture and environment shape us and in the ways in which people create meaning in their lives. I have found again and again that psychotherapy can help people understand themselves more deeply and bring about changes which lead to more fulfilled and interesting ways of living, as well as to an improved understanding of themselves in relationship with others. I am able to work on both a short and long term basis, with a preference for longer term work.

Taking the first step towards therapy, or returning to therapy, can be difficult. Yet working through your experiences can help to process life more meaningfully. Being a qualified psychodynamic therapist means that I understand how even the smallest of issues can play such a huge part in what you may be feeling inside. We can work through this together, as I invite you to share your issues in a warm, empathic, yet well-held space.

People seek therapy & counselling for different reasons & you will have your own unique life experiences that may cause you unhappiness or you may find yourself at crisis point feeling unsure of what to do next. I have worked with many different clients from across the social & cultural spectrum from medical professionals to artists, full-time students to stay at home parents & retirees. I understand that often it is the first step, no matter who we are, that can feel the hardest; the reaching out & making contact. You may want to explore options for change, make sense of a difficult experience or gain new strategies for coping.
