Your heart has always felt a little broken, even before you were old enough to find love. You searched endlessly for someone that got it, in books, in the music you listened to late and night whilst crying in your room. ‘I want to be someone else or I’ll explode’. Except you didn’t explode and your life dragged on. It’s hard to explain why your soul feels empty. Everyone told you it would pass but it never fully did. You just got better at hiding it. The German army shirt became an All Saints jumper, the vodka and coke became a bottle of Whispering Angel. All good, nothing to see here. You became very good at pretending.
You're not quite sure how therapy could help you, you know you need more than a listening ear and some motivational quotes. You can read Brené Brown and Bessel Van der Kolk by yourself. You do not want to sit around in awkward silence. The real question is what the hell do you do after you understand where it all went wrong?
It’s time to stop pretending everything is okay. You need someone who sees past the bravado to the flicker of sadness that you're constantly holding at bay. I offer online sessions via Zoom so you can get the best therapist for you instead of the closest. Book a free initial call via my website www.exploreyourmind.co.uk/book-now
