We have all known times in our lives when we needed support from others. Research has shown that it can help to talk through our concerns, particularly when they don't seem to resolve themselves and at times seem to get louder in our heads. Allowing someone else to see your life through their eyes, uncluttered by negative perceptions, empathising with you and celebrating who you are, can have transformative therapeutic effects. Therapy can give people choices as to new ways forward, feeling more in control of their lives through a developed self awareness, enabling a person or couple to work on a plan B.
I work in a way that suits the individual and so use different styles of therapy which is called integrative. As my clients become more comfortable I ask them questions to gain a deeper understanding of their inner world and what they feel will help, as I believe people know the answers, but need the confidence in themselves to be able to find the solutions.
As an experienced Psychotherapeutic Counsellor I can offer individuals and couples a safe space to explore what is going on for you and how together we can help you to move forward. Through my Samaritan work supporting people for over 5 years in crisis on the phone, I am confident that I can offer effective telephone or online counselling.
