It can be scary making the first steps to looking for a counsellor and it also takes a lot of strength and bravery. Sometimes life events can leave us with a feeling of being stuck. This could be because of fear, anxiety, stress or underlying trauma that prevents you from finding the strength to move forward and heal. I believe by being able to learn to connect back to our feelings and our true selves, learning to listen and trust ourselves will not only help us understand who we are but also what we want and deserve which is to be loved, valued and happy.

I reply to enquires quickly and will return your message promptly. I am a trained Humanistic therapist, this means I am led by my client’s needs, and work to understand the unique experience of each individual that has led them to seek help. All the clients I see want to resolve difficulties they are experiencing and achieve improvements to their emotional well being and the relationship they have with themselves and others. The skills and approaches developed over the course of my career enable me to adapt to your specific needs.

I am committed to helping you explore, examine and move forward in a way that is ideal for you. Nothing is too big or too small to bring to sessions. We can work together at a pace that suits you. Clients often work with goals or a focus on mind, others aren’t quite sure what they need or want to explore.

People generally look for a counsellor because they feel stuck or unable to move forward from unhelpful thoughts and behaviour patterns. You could struggle to connect with others and maintain healthy relationships. You may also feel like you can’t keep up with the people around you; as though everyone is doing better than you are. Self-acceptance and self-worth may be a problem, especially if you are suffering from anxiety and depression. Do you want to move forward and build yourself a sustainable future?

Does it feel as though your feelings are too overwhelming at times? The preoccupation of fearing the worse, feeling not good enough and doubting yourself is tiring to carry around and becoming more difficult to mask. The uncertainty of how to change things adds to the frustration and muddle you are feeling. I understand talking about yourself can be difficult because of a fear of being judged or you may not know where to begin. I will do my best to put you at ease as finding the right counsellor is really important to be able to talk about how you feel, gain new insights, understand your behaviours and build self confidence.

Hello, my name is Lee Ash. I trust you have found me because you are going through a difficult time and are seeking support and a safe person to share your struggle with. I understand that reaching out to an unfamiliar person can be a challenging experience, so I will do my best to lessen any fears you may have about the counselling process through sharing information about myself and my counselling practice. The first thing I want you to know is that when you contact me I respond. I am very aware that when someone is seeking counselling they don’t want to wait too long for a response. So I make it a priority to make contact ASAP.

Do you need to speak to someone who listens, cares and understands what you are going through? You are not alone. We all have times when we struggle to cope. It can be hard to open up to friends and family when you are going through a hard time. Seeking help from a therapist is not a sign of weakness, but rather a sign of strength.
