Choosing a therapist can be a tricky task, there are just so many! Perhaps taking a moment to pause and check inwardly for a 'felt sense' about a potential match may help you decide. This experiential practice is known as 'focusing'. I frequently invite my clients to pause and check for a bodily felt sense as I believe talking about a problem is not always enough. My approach to psychotherapy is integrative, drawing on humanistic, cognitive (CBT) and Internal Family Systems Therapy (IFS). I am also currently training in EMDR therapy.
I have over 5 years experience in helping people become more resilient to cope with any challenges they may be facing. My specialties include OCD, GAD, perfectionism, overthinking, panic as well as Autism and Childhood Trauma.
Having lived with anxiety myself (OCD, perfectionism) I can relate to individuals who struggle with intrusive thoughts and constant worry. Self-compassion is key!
