I am an experienced psychotherapist and am the manager and clinical lead for a counselling service at a university. I specialise in trauma, emotional distress, anxiety and depression. I draw upon different theories in order to provide the most appropriate therapeutic support to each of my clients, leading to good outcomes. I believe counselling can help us see the unhelpful patterns we find ourselves in and explain why they are happening. This can then lead to a shift in perspective, and help us work towards permanent. I believe my role is to assist clients through this process, and and support them move towards the life they want
I have experience working with a wide range of issues such as abuse, trauma, anxiety and depression. As a therapist I work privately, in Further Education and the charity sector supporting individuals, students and staff with a wide range of psychological issues. I am comfortable working with different people facing different challenges.
I believe that the relationship between myself and my clients is key to them overcoming challenges and difficulties. I am keen to build strong, trusting and collaborative relationships with clients to help them face the past and make choices so they can see positive change in the future.
