Life can become overwhelming at times. Sometimes there is a specific event or sometimes there can be general feelings of anxiety or depression, especially following the pandemic and these times of global uncertainty. Talking therapy can help to get to the heart of those fears, and uncover patterns of behaviour or thinking. I can be a witness to your story and guide you towards a more grounded sense of yourself. I aim to walk alongside my clients as we explore their world. Finding a therapist can be overwhelming, but the best way forward is for us to meet and take it from there.
My first experience of therapy was in 2009 immediately after the death of my mother. It wasn’t very successful, and I learned how painful it can be to not feel seen or heard. It was another 7 years before I gave therapy another go, and this time it saved and changed my life. It can be daunting to think about talking to a professional for the first time.
Perhaps you are feeling stuck, anxious or unhappy or just ‘not yourself’. Maybe a life event has happened and you don’t know how to navigate it yourself. At an initial assessment we can discuss what has brought you to therapy and make a plan together. Therapy can be life changing, and the aim is to empower you to be able to navigate trickier times.
