Thank you for viewing my profile. I have been a practicing counsellor since 2008. With the experience that I have gained and a deepening knowledge of theory, I believe that I can make a difference to the lives of others. I became interested in the benefits of counselling as a result of my work with children and my own personal struggles. Intrigued and fascinated by the subject, I qualified as an Integrative counsellor in 2010. I have since gained many further qualifications in how to help people with a range of issues and challenges they can face. Change and development in life is always what I hope we can achieve together.

Hello and welcome to my profile. I'm an integrative counsellor and have experience working with a range of issues including anxiety, depression, stress, grief, life transitions, low self-esteem, self-harm and relationship problems. Perhaps you're feeling overwhelmed and struggling to cope, or maybe you just need someone to talk to who can help you process some things. I understand how difficult it can be to take that first step towards counselling, but I can speak personally of the benefits counselling has had in working through some difficult seasons in my own life and how empowering it can be to feel truly heard and understood.

This is achieved by collaboratively exploring life events, patterns of thinking and examining behaviours which may intensify unwanted feelings. By learning to challenge unhelpful thinking and behaving, clients can begin to achieve their therapeutic goals and develop an understanding of how to address future difficulties.

CBT is a talking therapy based on the theory that thoughts, feelings, what we do and how our body feels are all connected. If we change on of these we can alter the others. When people feel worried or distressed we often fall into patterns of thinking and responding that can worsen how we feel. CBT works to help us notice and change problematic thinking styles or behaviour patterns. CBT has lots of strategies that can help you in the here and now. CBT has good evidence for a wide range of mental health problems and is a recommended therapy for Anxiety Disorders, panic, PTSD, OCD, Social Anxiety and Phobias, Anger & sleep problems.

I am a BABCP accredited Cognitive Behavioural Therapist with experience providing psychological assessment and support to children, adolescents, and adults. I provide a safe and confidential space for both individuals and those with relationship difficulties to work through what is troubling you. Therapy can be daunting and many struggle to make that initial consultation; you are not alone. I will walk alongside you every step of the way on your therapeutic journey; providing you with individually tailored tools and techniques to work through your difficulties. Often in life it is our relationships, which cause us the most angst, our stress is generally always in relation to someone else and our self talk if often heavily laden with 'shoulds' resulting in feelings of guilt.
