As a therapist I aim to provide a safe none judgemental therapeutic space for individuals, couples or families to reflect on the challenges that they maybe experiencing in their relationships which could be impacting on their emotional well being. Nathalie is aware that often people come to her for help when in crisis and the communication with those we are connected to has become too toxic. Nathalie notes that difficulties in speaking openly with those we are connected to is a common theme within families. Nathalie also has successfully used a relational attachment approach to work with individuals, both adults and young people.
Nathalie is informed within her practice by a relational trauma informed approach, this is a relational framework where the therapeutic process focuses on thinking together with the respective family members at how past relationships and experiences can be enacted in current relationships culminating in unhelpful and conflictual disconnected communication.
Within the relational attachment approach I model a secure attachment style and aim to emotionally attune to the client's needs. Through the therapeutic relationship I prioritise a strength based approach to support the client to reflect on their problems, with a view to supporting the changes they want to make, and recognising their own resilience.
