Mental health challenges and men's issues are far more common than you might think.
I specialise in mental health challenges such as anxiety, depression, stress and men's related issues. These are issues such as intimacy, ED, low sex drive, pornography and relationship or social challenges. In psychotherapy sessions I provide a confidential setting that encourages you to reflect on your journey. We will explore the feelings, emotions and impact significant events have had on the way you experience day-to-day life. We will work through your thought process moving towards the version of you that you've always wanted to be. Who is that person? Do they allow themselves to smile, laugh and be happy?

Thanks for visiting – making important changes in your life can feel daunting. I move at your pace and we focus on the parts that you want to change, accept the things you cannot and devise a plan for the things you can. I have experience with men's issues, anxiety, relationship issues, depression, stress, and grief. I have worked with young people who are at risk of sexual exploitation, domestic abuse and neglect. I produce and co-host a podcast resource called "It's Not You, It's Them" and am co-author of "Strength to Talk", which is dedicated to men's mental health.

What can I help with Abuse, Anger management, Anxiety, Autism spectrum, Bereavement, Depression, Loss, Men's issues, Neurodiversity, Post-traumatic stress, Redundancy, Relationships, Self esteem, Spirituality, Stress, Work related issues.
Everybody is different and special, but has in common the need to be heard, recognised, valued and understood. As a fully qualified BACP registered person-centred counsellor trained at the Metanoia Institute those four things are at the heart of my practice. Whatever your worry, concern, or difficulty, sharing what is on your mind and in your heart in a safe space is the start of healing and self-acceptance.

I offer both in person and online support for people experiencing grief, loss or struggling with change. This can be bereavement, loss of a job, end of a relationship or simply feeling a bit lost in life itself. I also work with men's issues as well as LGBT concerns. I offer a safe, confidential and non-judgemental space to unpack issues, explore your feelings and better understand what is going on for you. You may be feeling lost, anxious, uncertain or scared. That's understandable. That's okay. Considering counselling is a brave step. Well done for coming this far. Let's work together to try and find a way forward for you.

Most of my work is with adults experiencing stress, anxiety, depression, burnout, trauma, and identity and relational difficulties. These may show up as intra or interpersonal difficulties, shame, fear or anxieties around health, performance and confidence, self-esteem and worth, and within social and relational contexts. I provide an open, non-judgemental, validating and conversational space that encourages curiosity, learning and growth, intrinsically and relationally.

Therapy is not just about working through complex issues. Sometimes we can be so rushed off our feet with family, business and work priorities that we lose our footing. I can offer you the space to reconnect or explore your dilemmas.

My clients choose to see me to help them address specific issues or to explore their thoughts and feelings in particular moments in their lives. Whatever the reason I offer them a confidential space where they can allow themselves to open up as much as they are comfortable with. Often issues are linked to self-esteem, self-worth and the difficulty to fully accept oneself. Clients are often able to become more confident in themselves and in relationships as they learn how to be more compassionate and kind to themselves. Therapy can help clients become happier, more fulfilled and successful in their life journey.

Men's Issues Counsellors
Is therapy for men different than it is for women?
Therapeutic treatments and types are the same for men as they are for women, with the same protocols followed and the same strategies employed. Discussing one’s feelings and emotions is an integral part of most therapies, and some men find doing so more challenging. Therapists can help clients through the process; some specialize in treating men for this reason.
How do you encourage a man to go to therapy?
It’s helpful to express your concern and love for the person while framing therapy as a tool for improving their life. Offering specific examples of how an individual’s behavior affected either himself or others should be done with compassion and with empathy. It may be useful to devise a game plan—breaking the process down into parts, such as finding a therapist, making appointments, and looking into insurance coverage.
How can men prepare for therapy?
Men can prepare for therapy by approaching the process with an open mind, being willing to talk about their challenges, and giving treatment the time to work. Before a session, an individual may want to reflect on how they’ve felt since the last session and what’s happened in their lives. It can be useful for men who struggle to recall their emotional states to write down notes between sessions about their response to a given event or how they were feeling at a particular time.
What should men know about the process of therapy?
One of the most common reasons men don’t seek therapy is the notion that there’s something wrong with them if they do. Men should know that just because they’re seeking therapy doesn’t mean they’re mentally ill or damaged in some way. In the same way people work on their bodies through exercise or a craft through practice, therapy can be a way to improve the mental and emotional skills needed to be productive and effective partners, employees, and people in all realms of life.
