My name is Matthew and I am a counsellor and doctoral candidate in psychotherapy based in Walthamstow, East London. I provide a supportive, non-judgemental and confidential space where you can reflect on your patterns of relating to yourself and others. The therapeutic process allows you to gain insight into how these patterns developed, consider whether they are still serving you and explore avenues for meaningful change. Together, we can explore your emotions, thoughts, and behaviours which feel stuck or repetitive. Each session is open and non-directed, I just ask that you try not to censor yourself.
You may be seeking psychotherapy to address a specific problem or to cultivate greater self-awareness. I have experience working with adults dealing with a range of issues: depression, anxiety, trauma, addiction, anger, bereavement, self-confidence, relationship difficulties, sexual and gender identity, obsessive compulsion and creative challenges.
Psychotherapy does not exclusively deal with problems and suffering. I see psychotherapy as directed towards achieving a holistic form of well-being, going beyond symptom relief to foster personal growth, openness and self-expression.
