I have almost 30 years experience as it a psychotherapist and have worked with an extensive range of issues and in many different settings over that time. I am visiting professor of psychotherapy at Adam Mickiewicz University, director of Manchester Psychotherapy Foundation and former senior lecturer in psychotherapy at University of Salford. I teach psychotherapists around Europe. After initially training in counselling, I then completed Transactional Analysis psychotherapy training. I am a teaching and supervising Transactional analyst. I am also an accredited EMDR therapist. I work in a time limited format of up to 20 sessions
My areas of expertise are depression, anxiety, trauma, relationship problems and sexual problems. My research was on depression and I am the author of a Transactional Analysis treatment manual. I work with a full range of traumatic events and memories, including extreme trauma. I am also a trained couples therapist and also practice psychosexual therapy
I follow a detailed intake procedure which helps me to understand your situation, your problems and their origins. I individually tailor the therapy for each client.. I offer a free initial assessment appointment to all prospective clients. Please be aware I usually have a six to eight week waiting time before I have a space to take on a new client.
