I tend to work with people with varied, often mixed, cultures and backgrounds; people who sometimes feel they don't quite belong. We can explore a range of issues, such as: stress, anxiety and overwhelm, lack of meaning and purpose, emptiness and depression, abuse, difficulties with sex, intimacy and relationships, family conflict, shame, loss, questions to do with identity, sexuality and behaviour, among others. We move towards your goals, which can evolve during our work together, and we go at your own pace.
As an integrative psychotherapist, l use different approaches- predominantly psychodynamic, body based and person-centered, meaning that you are the source of knowledge for what we are exploring, and that our work is informed by your early life experiences and relationships, and what meaning you made of them, as well as your embodied experience here and now.
The length of our work together depends on what your needs are. We start with an initial consultation to help us figure out if we are a good fit and if we decide to go ahead, we will see each other weekly for a 50 minute session at an agreed day and time until an appropriate end determined between us.
