Hi, I'm Maisie and I specialise in EMDR therapy for birth and postnatal trauma. I also offer therapy for people who are struggling to adjust to parenthood. I understand the transition to becoming a parent can be difficult, even without experiencing birth trauma. Our children are mirrors of us and difficult childhood experiences can often come to the surface when you become a parent yourself. EMDR can help you process any difficult feelings that may have come to the surface for you. I offer a gentle, collaborative, down to earth approach to therapy.
I'm able to offer support to help you reduce difficult feelings associated with your birth or past. EMDR can help you to reframe any difficult experiences you may have had. It is evidence based and proven to reduce symptoms of PTSD so you can start to feel more positive and at peace with any difficult experiences you may have had.
I use a somatically informed approach to EMDR therapy; one of my focuses will be to support you to reconnect your thoughts, emotions and body sensations as these can sometimes be disconnected following trauma. All my clients also have access to an online library of resources and exercises to help people feel calmer and more regulated.
