I'm an EMDR therapist who can work with all mental health disorders in particular complex trauma, neglect, and PTSD. My background is in Occupational Therapy within the NHS and I can work with varying levels of severity. EMDR I find is an effective tool to address issues or trauma from the past, resolve it, and put it back into the past so it no longer affects a person in the present. It uses techniques that affect a person on a neurological level allowing the client to utilize their own healing processes and resolution.
I predominately use EMDR to address past issues that hinder progress. I incorporate my experience of working as an Occupational Therapist in mental health and use strategies and techniques to build on functioning levels. I also use EFT techniques to help support EMDR and teach the client to use these to manage difficult emotions in between sessions.
I like to work at your pace offering a nurturing, empowered space. Initial sessions are about gathering information and explaining EMDR and how it works. I will also spend time building resource techniques. My main focus is on overcoming the past so that it no longer affects you today. So that you can live a life as full as possible.
