People are drawn to counselling/psychotherapy for various reasons. Perhaps you are facing difficulties in your relationships or grappling with intense emotions. It could be that you're finding it hard to cope with a recent event in your life, or you're feeling distressed without a clear understanding of why. Therapy can help you to make sense of these experiences, gaining a deeper understanding of yourself and finding effective ways to tackle the challenges you encounter. Working alongside a skilled therapist can support you to find a way forward.
Every client is unique, bringing with them a lifetime of experiences, beliefs and behaviours. Because of this, I take an integrative approach, combining different types of therapy specific to each client. My core training is in person-centred, psychodynamic and Gestalt therapies, so you can expect our work together to draw on these approaches.
I am led by my clients, believing that you hold the keys to how change might best unfold for you. My values include compassion, kindness, curiosity, honesty, respect and equality. I am aligned to a social justice model and aim to work inclusively. My practice is rooted in LGBTQ+ affirming, fat positive, trauma-informed and anti-oppressive frameworks.
