I am a UKCP psychotherapist specialising in working with couples and families. Couples will inevitably have problems and suffer disillusionment, this is normal and not a sign your relationship is doomed. Problems in families are often laid at the door of one person but as we look at what is going on we usually find that the problem is in the system. I have training working with adult adoptees and lived experience with neurodiversity so understand how these experiences effect couples and families.

Therapy with me will help you increase your knowledge about yourself, your partner, your family and the patterns of interaction between you. We will explore past hurts and the emotions connected to them to help us understand the problems you may be having today. I will help you apply this knowledge to break ineffective patterns and develop new ones.

Talking through your problems together with me can help you get to the heart of your conflicts and come to value each other’s beliefs and feelings. If a separation is in your best interest, therapy can make that transition constructive rather than destructive, both for you and your children if you have them.

I use Transitional Analysis as my main model as I find it very useful to explain complicated concepts of the mind in a simple and understandable way. I also use the developmental model of world experts Ellyn Bader and Pete Pearson in my couples therapy as once again, I find clients are able to understand what is happening and get a clear view of the direction needed.
