Welcome to my profile. I hope you find the support you need, whether with me or another counsellor. For those who have taken that important step, I enjoy working alongside and celebrating with them when improvements in their mental health begin to show. This can involve getting to the root causes of symptoms, which is typically connected with 'what has happened to you'. We are shaped by our past, which is key to our understanding of 'self'. By giving attention to the feelings that play out in the present we can learn how to take back control of our emotions to live a better life, including in how we relate to self and others.
My core training of a Person Centred approach, with Psychodynamic theories, remains at the centre of how I work, together with integrating other approaches over time, including creative ways of working and Inner Child work. Trauma is a particular focus of my work, for which I apply a structured recovery model, that I tailor to meet client's needs.
I work with clients at a pace that's right for them, to explore what's behind issues causing harm to their mental wellbeing, helping them to becomes more curious, self aware and feel empowered to make changes to their lives . This is in a safe none judgemental environment, with compassion being at the heart of how I work, online or in my counselling room.
