My name is Lena and I am an accredited psychotherapist with a great deal of experience in the treatment of a wide range of anxiety and mood-related disorders. I am specialising in the treatment of trauma (developmental, complex, relational or single-event trauma), addictions, and personality disorders. I also work with people with existential issues and bereavement. I have many years experience of working with adults in various different settings, including the NHS, prison settings, drug and alcohol services, primary care service (IAPT) and private practice. I have also worked in mental health services abroad.
I draw from a wide range of modalities and tailor the treatment approach to my individual client's needs and goals. Some of the approaches I use are: CBT: anxiety and mood related difficulties; EMDR: trauma, attachment issues and other adverse life experiences; Schema Therapy and DBT: personality disorders, long standing difficulties.
When you come to a therapy session my primary goal is to make you feel welcome and comfortable to share your story. I provide you with a warm and safe space where you can feel accepted and understood. I am here to listen to you with compassion, offer you tools to help you cope with challenging times and help you become more resilient.
