As human beings we are complex. We may have emotional responses which we believe are shameful or embarrassing, causing us to deny them. Depression, anxiety and stress can take hold in our daily lives. We may feel stuck in the one place and too overwhelmed to know what to do or where to ask for help. This, alongside our jobs, families, relationships, bereavements, and the pressure of life can feel overwhelming. Some of us may have struggled with our mental health for years, for others, these hardships may come out of nowhere. We may have experienced traumatic events in our past that are affecting our present.
I have extensive experience of working successfully with individuals who are grappling with their mental health using evidence-based practice. I will honour your boundaries while challenging you in a supportive way during sessions. I will be respectful to your culture and beliefs by having a non-judgemental approach to your views and experiences.
My hope is that you will feel safe and validated enough to be your true self and acknowledge all parts of your individuality. Working with you in a gentle and curious way will allow us to explore what can be daunting to look at alone. With the right compassion and understanding, you can heal from the difficulties you are facing.
