I am a qualified counsellor and Gestalt psychotherapist, registered with UKCP. I have experience working with clients from different backgrounds and with a variety of presenting issues in a social care setting, in private practice and for counselling charities. I offer short term and long term- open ended therapy. In my practice as a Gestalt Psychotherapist I am aspiring to engage in the therapeutic relationship with sensitivity, authenticity, an embodied approach and with the intention to be fully present and relational with the people I work with. I offer a safe, warm, compassionate and confidential space to help you explore your feelings, thoughts and relationships with your self and others; make sense of any difficulties you may be experiencing e.g. feeling stuck in ways of being and behaving that no longer work for you, painful events in the present, distressing memories from the past or worries about the future. I will accompany you throughout a journey of awareness, growth and change.
I have experience of working with trauma, emotional, sexual and physical abuse, neglect, depression, anxiety, bereavement, separation and loss, relationship matters, anger, self esteem, work related stress and life transitions. I also have experience with foster care and adoption issues.
There are times when we face difficulties and experience disappointments in life. However, I believe that we all have the potential to lead meaningful and fulfilling lives, and therapy can support us reach our potential.
