I am a Chartered Counselling Psychologist and EMDR therapist with over twenty years experience. I have special professional interest in anxiety, trauma, depression, chronic illness and chronic pain. I offer a clear and concise, almost coaching style of therapy using a person centred approach foundation but offering practical ideas and suggesting to help clients change unhelpful coping mechanisms and offer them healthier coping strategies. I can offer online therapy countrywide and even worldwide thanks to the security my insurance allows.
My Approach is informed largely by person centred therapy, ACT (Acceptance and commitment therapy) and EMDR (eye movement desensitisation and reprocessing) as well as being informed by coaching the very practical skills of DBT (dialectical behavioural therapy).
I know that choosing a therapist and reaching out for therapy can be daunting and so I offer a first free 15-30 minute online session. I do this as the fit between therapist and client is paramount. Therapy can only work if the therapeutic relationship is built on trust.
