Psycho-dynamically and group-analytically trained, I believe that a good deal of trauma, depression and anxiety originate in childhood experience, often unacknowledged by others if not by the distressed person. This includes separation, loss and bereavement, sexual and physical abuse. These experiences need exploration alongside a trained practitioner. In a confidential therapy group, which is for sitting down and talking, each member of up to 8, takes part by talking, listening, feeling and responding, building trust, with a boundary observed of no social contact beyond group sessions. We use only first names.
