Being trained psychodynamically, enables me to look at patterns & coping mechanisms that may have been set down in the past but that are repeating, unconsciously and often unhelpfully, in the present. Often these come to light when a crisis - bereavement; the end of a relationship; redundancy; illness - occurs. I am a psychodynamically trained psychotherapist, with extensive experience in the NHS, Higher Education Sector and 10 years supporting clients living with HIV. I am also trained as a Person Centred Experiential Counselling for Depression & Trauma Practitioner; Couples Counsellor and a fully qualified Clinical Supervisor.
I work integratively and can teach techniques, including CBT and mindfulness skills, to better help you challenge and manage the emotional stress of everyday life. As an Accredited Member of the BACP, I adhere strictly to their Ethical Framework which supports the importance of safety, confidentiality, and equality.
