Hello, my name is Kat and I am a fully qualified Integrative Counsellor. If you find you are struggling with anxiety, depression, stress, low confidence, relationship issues or anything else that you would like to talk about with someone in a safe, non-judgmental space, then counselling can be very helpful. I offer both long and short term counselling, working at your own pace to offer a safe space for you to explore what is troubling you. I believe that the relationship between counsellor and client is a very important aspect to the therapeutic experience and so building a trusting therapeutic relationship is part of the process.
I use a primarily a person-centred approach in my work, but can also draw on different approaches depending on your needs. The person-centred approach focuses on the client's individual experience, believing that you are the expert on yourself. The therapist employs empathic listening skills creating a safe space for the client to explore themselves.
The relationship is of key importance to successful counselling therefore I offer a free 30 minute initial meeting. This can help us to decide whether my skills can suit your needs and also allows you to decide whether you will feel comfortable working with me.
