I am a specialist relationship and couples counsellor having trained at Tavistock Relationships, the leading centre of excellence for couple psychotherapy. You might seek help for a specific issue, such as going through a life transition whether that is living together, becoming parents, retiring, experienced a bereavement, or facing illness. You might be struggling to communicate with your partner about your needs, feeling lonely or anxious within your relationship, there has been an affair, or you are struggling to form relationships.
I use a psychodynamic approach. This means that our thoughts and feelings in the present are explored in the context of looking at family relationships and early experiences. Making links with our past and present can bring a greater understanding of where our patterns of behaviour and beliefs come from, and how you relate to others and to yourself.
My approach is compassionate and sensitive, and I offer couples and individuals a safe and non-judgmental space to explore anxieties and concerns. I encourage you to be curious about yourself and your partner, and how you have come to be where you are now. I offer time-limited therapy and long term weekly therapy.
