Counselling and psychotherapy can help you to understand your problems, decide which of them you can resolve and help you achieve it. You can gain a better understanding of yourself and others, and can improve relationships. Therapy can help you to mediate arguments and develop your communication skills. Couple or family therapy can assist when you experience any stressful event that may strain family relationships, such as the birth of a child, problems with adolescents or going through loss or divorce.
I am a qualified and registered Counselling Psychologist. My private practice is based in Sunbury-on-Thames. I have training and experience providing individual, family and couple therapy. I also work with children and adolescents. I meet my clients on a weekly or fortnightly basis and I offer both short-term and open ended therapy.
Before the therapy starts I undertake an initial assessment to look closely at the problem and decide upon the best next steps and most suitable type of support: individual, couple therapy or family sessions. This is also time for you to see if you are happy with my style of working and decide if you think we can build a relationship based on trust.
