Hi, my name is JoJo and I am a qualified person-cantered counsellor based in Buckinghamshire - Milton Keynes. I work in person, online and offer walking sessions. I work with anyone over the age of 14 yrs, covering areas such as depression, anxiety, body image, disordered eating, self-harm, sexuality, LGBTQI, ADHD, neurodiversity and issues that may arise when we live in blended families. My approach is always to build up a relationship of trust, find common areas we can connect on and work at a pace that suits you. I have lived and worked in India and the US so have cross-cultural understanding.
From my own experience of receiving counseling, I understand how daunting it can be to sit with a stranger and suddenly feel like you have to share feelings that are challenging and may have been hidden or you may feel ashamed of. My style is intuitive, and engaging and I always want to actively listen to you. Sometimes we might even laugh together!
I offer a free 15 min "Get to know me" session, where you can chat with me, find out a bit more about how I work, and see if you think we connect. There is no pressure to chat in any detail about why you want to attend sessions, but more of opportunity to see if could work together.
