Welcome. I hope my profile information will give you an insight to my work and how I might be of help to you. Are you feeling depressed, anxious, sad, lonely, angry or frustrated? Have you been bereaved or experienced a traumatic event. These are issues which we all deal with in our lives. Perhaps you want to feel more content, feel happier or less stressed. I aim to help people talk about their issues, what they want to change and how they can make those changes to reach their full potential. We all have the ability to be the best we can be; sometimes we just need to be guided and given the tools to help us begin the journey.
I am an Integrative Counsellor, meaning I use various approaches with my clients, depending on their unique needs. I use a person-centred approach to instil confidence and trust in my clients. Psychoeducation helps clients understand why they feel the way they do, and cognitive behavioural therapy teaches techniques to change the way people think and behave.
I endeavour to instil a feeling of warmth and safety and provide a non-judgemental environment. I believe that educating clients gives them knowledge and this can empower them. Honesty and genuineness are qualities I possess which are important to build confidence and establish a strong, therapeutic relationship with my clients.
