If you seeking to feel safe with a therapist, my goal is to provide you with a feeling of trust and security. You may feel this sense of safety in our first session, or it may take many sessions to build. I believe that when you are relaxed, open and comfortable, that is when the most fruitful work can take place. You may be struggling with complex trauma, anxiety, depression, childhood issues, self-harm or suicidal thoughts; or perhaps you aren't sure how to put into words what you're going through, you just know that you need to speak to someone.
I am a person-centred therapist and will centre your unique needs, grounded in empathy, authenticity and non-judgement. I don't believe that I know what is best for you, however I can provide suggestions based on my training and professional experience. I also won't make false claims, but instead use talking therapy to explore what is on your mind.
I believe that reaching out to a therapist can be intimidating, even if you have had therapy before. If it is your first time and you're not sure what to expect, that may feel overwhelming. It is a courageous step to reach out for help. I will greet you with friendliness, warmth and acceptance.
