People usually contact me around issues of embodiment - meaning they are either overwhelmed by physical, emotional and psychological pain or the opposite - numb and cut-off from life. I have specialist training to work psycho-somatically. I support people working through complex trauma and dissociation. Associated with this are day-to-day issues in relationships arising from adaptations to trauma through life. As clients experience themselves as more connected/embodied their focus often shifts to creative self-expression and how to maintain aliveness in a world that often does not support its expression.
In addition to working in private practice as a Body Psychotherapist and Somatic Trauma Therapist, I co-founded and manage Silk House Therapy & Wellbeing, a multi-disciplinary therapy centre in Macclesfield, Cheshire. I am also a co-founder of and involved in the running and development of the big room community interest company.
