I offer in person and online counselling to adults from my fully accessible and conveniently located counselling room in Combe Down, near Bath. Although I believe that we are the experts on ourselves, sometimes life can feel confusing and overwhelming, and it helps to have someone really listen and try to understand. I do not make decisions for you but work collaborativeI have experience of working across a range of clients, including clients who are neurodiverse, and presentations including trauma, stress, anger, low self-esteem, depression, bereavement, anxiety and difficulty with relationships.
My training is in Humanistic and Integrative Counselling: the therapeutic relationship is often cited as the most important contributor to positive change. This relational approach is at the core of how I work, whilst also drawing from a variety of therapeutic theories as we look to find the source of difficult feelings and to make sense of your experience
I believe that we are all individuals, shaped by our unique life experiences, with our own pain and struggles. I will listen without judgement, and help you process whatever is going on for you in that moment, and be alongside you in it. Through empathy and compassion I can model what I believe to be essential for healing: self-compassion
