There are times in our lives when we notice that we don’t feel ok and that we need to move from that place, but don’t know how. In these times, counselling can offer a safe, private and confidential space to notice and share anything which doesn’t feel ok. It offers room to take care of, and notice ourselves. Only you can know best. I feel that through the relationship of counsellor and client we can work to notice or re-notice yourself. We might also find new ways of learning to cope with the pressures of life, or re-find old ways of supporting yourself that you have forgotten. (We can work creatively if you enjoy that).
I am a Humanistic Integrative Counsellor & Supervisor - we can be flexible in how we approach our sessions. We can use Person Centred (talking therapy), Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Gestalt, Sandplay or other creative ideas in our work together. Whatever suits your personality or needs. I also have experience working with clients with Autism/ADHD.
Throughout the past 24 years as a Teacher, Special Educational Needs Co-ordinator (SENCo) and as a Counsellor, I have recognised the importance for every human being (no matter what their age) of having a ‘voice’.
