I am an experienced counsellor and psychotherapist who works with adults in person or online. My approach is informal and relaxed. I don’t make judgements or tell you what you should do or think. I begin by helping you describe what is troubling you. I listen carefully and support you to make sense of your experiences, thoughts, and emotions. I help you to find meanings, identify patterns, and explore your choices. I support you to think about yourself more compassionately and clearly; strengthen your sense of who you are and better understand your relationships. An approach confirmed by current research to aid positive change.
The difficulties we encounter are related to our unique life experience; my approach and training enables me to tailor our work together to meet with your individual needs. I work in a way which combines different models; including, developmental, relational, humanistic, psychoanalytic, solution focused and cognitive behavioural therapy.
I undertake ongoing training and learning to enhance my practice. I routinely update my expertise with current research evidence and developments; taken from publications and journals in the fields of psychology, psychotherapy, and neuroscience. I attend relevant conferences that maintain a contemporary approach to my work with you.
