Working therapeutically with children and teenagers is different from therapy with adults, it requires specialist training and knowledge. Mine included a Masters and 5 years at the Tavistock and Portman (NHS), a world centre for Child and Adolescent Psychotherapy. I work as a senior Psychotherapist in CAMHS (NHS) and privately with 2 to 25 year olds, and have significant clinical experience in evidence based psychotherapy for depression, self harm, suicidal thoughts, anxiety, abuse, OCD, phobias, eating disorders, BPD, adoption, trauma, ADHD, autism related, psychosis, school and family problems, and body, trans and gender issues.

I see individual and couple clients with a wide range of issues. They include problems within relationships, parenting issues, bereavement, stress at work, low self-confidence and more. Often a client might feel a loss of hope and meaning in their life; they might have problems regulating their moods or coming to terms with aspects of themselves and decisions they have made. By coming into therapy, they seek to build a trusting relationship in which they open up, explore, let go of difficult emotions and complex thinking and beliefs.

I can support you and your family. I use evidence based talking therapies to improve people’s mood; challenge their negative thoughts and build helpful coping techniques.

As a parent or carer, trying to find a psychologist for a member of your family can feel like the "Wild West". Someone who you can trust with your family, someone who is highly qualified and experienced but who is also warm, patient and friendly. By the time you are seeking help, things have usually been stressful for quite a while and many parents tell me they are feeling desperate and don't know where to turn. Long waiting lists for CAMHS and trying to find the right person adds to the stress at a time when time can be crucial.

I can provide specialist treatment to children and their families where they may be behavioural issues that are affecting their relationships. I can help to understand the root cause of behaviour and to encourage heathier ways to communicate needs. I can help strengthen parent-child and parenting relationships by sharing my in depth knowledge and insight into behavioural and relational needs. This essentially builds greater awareness and "attunement" of one another, helping to create more harmonious and healthier family relationships.

I work with children who experience anxiety and stress. This can be because of school trauma, family trauma and all the small disconnects that build to leave your child not living life to the fullest of their being. I work 1:1 and with a family programme called ‘Building Loving Foundations’ that I designed to give families the tools to create really loving communication and ways to back each other. I work online.
