Hi, I'm Cesca Myles (she/ her). I'm a Creative Counsellor, and my role is to guide you via your creativity as a gentle tool to explore your thoughts and feelings, aiming to deepen your sense of wellbeing. Our sessions may involve bringing in the arts, such as drawing, painting, and clay. We can also incorporate elements of drama, movement, poetry or music if you wish. You don’t need to see yourself as ‘creative’ to benefit from using the arts in counselling. I offer space for you to explore, express and understand yourself better.

I work gently and compassionately, with individuals/couples, struggling with difficult or painful feelings, managing their emotions, and struggling to enjoy life. Communication is often an issue, as are feelings of unfairness or difficulty forming good, lasting relationships. Issues may involve partners, parents, past traumas, or inner conflict making decisions difficult. They may involve issues at work with colleagues, management or relationships. When working with couples the issues are often about unfulfilled expectations, infidelity, lack of commitment/affection, insecurity, lack of empathy, or experiences of coercion or control

Welcome. I'm a warm, compassionate and experienced CBT psychotherapist (BABCP accredited) and a qualified EMDR therapist. Within my practice I incorporate the concepts from the 'third wave' of CBT such as Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, Compassion Focused Therapy, and Mindfulness. These techniques can enhance the process of learning new ways of interacting with thoughts and emotions, thereby enabling me to provide the best outcome for my clients. Alongside my private practice I work for the NHS and the Ministry of Defence, providing high intensity treatment to adolescents and adults.

Beginning therapy is a brave and sometimes difficult decision. My approach is to build a trusting relationship where we can work in collaboration with one another. If you're struggling, the most important thing I hope you to feel in my practice is safe, safe to explore your feelings and experiences so that together we can help establish a way forward. Please note that occasional responses to enquiries can land in your email's "junk" or "spam" folder. If you are waiting for a reply, please check there. I aim to respond to all enquiries within three working days.

Livewell-therapy comes from the belief that we all have the potential to grow, to move forward at a pace that is unique to us.Sometimes, however, the path that we are on becomes bumpy and rough, and we find ourselves facing challenges, loss, feelings of uncertainty or a sense of being stuck. Counselling can be a hard and challenging process, it can also be a transformative and fundamentally liberating experience. I have successfully supported individuals through a variety of concerns including relationship/family/work, anxiety, depression, addictions, loss and bereavement. I have a background of EMDR and Rewind for trauma and PTSD.

People come to counselling for many different reasons. You may have something specific that you are looking to change or gain help with. Maybe you are looking for an opportunity to get to know yourself better. Counselling allows you to do all of these things, it is a time and space for you. It is an invitation to escape distractions, pressures and your external demands and explore who you are.

The service I offer is queer-, kink-, ENM-friendly and culturally sensitive.
As someone who experienced a profound alignment to my artistic path and community in recent years after what felt like a lifetime of painful trial and error, I am particularly invested in helping individuals who wish to self-actualise any frustrated creative potential or uncover a calling. The transpersonal aspect of psychotherapy deals with a spiritual dimension of the human experience (not necessarily one that is religious) and in this capacity I hope to assist with people undergoing spiritual emergency.

I deeply value the importance of working in an ethically rooted way and I am an LGBTQ+ affirmative counsellor.
Hi I’m Loz, my pronouns are they/them. I believe that to create a nurturing space where you feel safe and open to explore the challenges that have brought you to counselling, I need to be the most genuine and empathetic version of myself I can be. Sharing my humanness with you is important to me and this is what guided me to become a Person-Centred counsellor. Our sessions will be led by you, allowing you to work at your own pace, while I take a gentle and holding approach to being alongside you through your journey.

I have an extensive experience in working with and supporting the LGBTQ+ community and their unique life challenges like coming out, internalised homophobia, self-esteem issues and other day-to-day struggles.
My name is Marek and I am a Psychotherapist and a Sex and Relationship Therapist who works in a private practice and in a higher education institution in London. I believe therapy helps people to develop a deeper understanding of themselves and their relationships to become free of old patterns, or simply find ways to process pain or memories that have kept them feeling stuck. I strongly believe that we simply repeat what we don't repair. I have a heart and a passion for the work I do in creating effective change. My clinical experience includes working for: NHS, a community counselling services, and a suicidal respite centre.

I work alongside people who are dealing with all kinds of issues, including, but not limited to, anxiety, relationship issues, depression, family issues, career and life choices, affairs and betrayals, separation and divorce, abuse, anger management, bereavement, low self-esteem, low self-confidence, sex and sexuality, LGBT-related issues and stress.
I am a fully trained psychotherapist (MBACP Reg. & MNCPS Acc.) and supervisor with 20+ years experience. When life feels a little out of balance, it's important that we find our own answers to the things that concern us about our lives. It's also important that we find a way to do this that suits our preferences, our needs and our styles. It's vital that we find a place where we can consider those questions about our lives and the situations we find ourselves in with patience, compassion and care. Finding a counsellor or psychotherapist to be with us can bring enormous benefit during difficult times.

LGBTQ+ Counsellors

Do LGBTQ-affirmative therapists receive special training?

Yes. Many therapists who practice LGBTQ-affirmative therapy have completed specialised training, either during their degree programme or as continuing education, to learn the core principles of affirmative therapy and how to best support their LGBTQ clients; some have received certifications in LGBTQ-affirmative therapy. Prospective clients should inquire as to a clinician’s background and training to ensure a good fit.

Why might I want to see an LGBTQ-affirming or LGBTQ-friendly therapist?

Queer and gender-non-conforming individuals frequently experience bias and marginalisation in day-to-day life. Working with a therapist who understands these unique challenges, as well as accepts and affirms their identity, can help LGBTQ clients feel safe and supported during therapy—allowing them to better navigate their relationships, mental health, and anything else that they wish to explore during therapy. It is important to note that many therapists can be effective in their work with LGBTQ+ individuals, even in the absence of specific training or background knowledge. The most important component in therapy is the alliance between therapist and client, and this alliance can exist between individuals with very different backgrounds.

How can I find an LGBTQ-friendly therapist?

You may wish to inquire about a therapist’s expertise with your specific challenges or concerns—depression, for example, or relationship strife—as well as their past experiences treating LGBTQ+ clients. Prospective clients may also ask whether a therapist has obtained additional training and/or certification in LGBTQ-affirmative techniques.

How can I inquire about a therapist’s experience with LGBTQ issues?

Prospective clients should feel empowered to directly ask therapists whether they have received training or been certified in LGBTQ-affirming therapy; competent therapists will be happy to explain their educational background and preferred approach(es) to help a client find the best match for them. Clients may also wish to ask how a therapist has treated clients with their particular challenges in the past and what they expect treatment to look like.

Are all the therapists listed in the LGBTQ directory themselves members of the LGBTQ community?

While therapists may choose to disclose their sexual orientation or gender identity in their profiles, the LGBTQ directory features not only those who have shared this information but also those who assert specialised training or experience in providing support to queer individuals, couples or families.
