In my personal experience, the key to having positive and successful counselling is simply down to whether you connect well with your counsellor – and the strength of your relationship with your counsellor.
If you always seem to be in unhappy relationships; suffer from anxiety or depression; feel angry all the time; are struggling with addictive behaviors; feel in constant emotional pain; or feel like no-one really listens to you properly or notices what you are going through; then I can offer you the time and space to be seen and heard, and start to work through what you are facing.

I have experience of working with adults facing life difficulties and concerns including anxiety, work problems and sex and relationship difficulties.
I believe that at times, we all struggle with life difficulties and need someone who understand and sees us. There can be huge barriers to fairness in our society and this, along with the pressures of relationships, social media, work and expectations of others, can reduce our ability to cope alone. I believe that counselling can play a key role in helping us navigate these difficulties and face the future with a little more optimism.

Relationship issues, Couples, low self-worth, esteem, anxiety, depression.
Hello, I work with a range of issues, including anxiety and depression. Being heard and accepted for being who you truly are, can feel incredibly empowering. When this is taken away, our thoughts can trigger unhelpful behaviours, increasing low mood. Which in turn can play havoc with our emotions. When we feel lonely and isolated, overwhelming feelings can flood our thoughts and fears. I can offer you a safe, warm, and confidential space to explore any issues that may contribute towards your anxiety and depression. I am here to listen to you in an non-judgemental way, and to support you with any changes you wish to make.

In CBT we explore the relationship between our thoughts, emotions and behaviours in order to identify what is maintaining your difficulties.
We can all feel low and anxious from time to time depending on our life situation and/or previous experiences. However sometimes, feeling low and/or anxious can start to impact and interrupt our day to day lives and activities. Therefore, sometimes seeking help from a qualified professional can be helpful to explore the trigger for your mood and/or anxiety. As a committed, professional psychotherapist, your wellbeing is my number one priority. I am happy to guide, support and coach you, to make the choices and changes that will be beneficial for the maintenance of your wellbeing.

Life can be challenging and at times we may not have the capacity to deal with everything going on. I have created the garden room in Launton, the village I live in, where the outdoors comes in to promote healing. Private and overlooking its own garden, it’s a peaceful space within which to work through what is troubling you at this time.

Because you're here, I imagine that things are feeling difficult. Something specific may be on your mind or it might be something more general; you may be overwhelmed with anxious thoughts, depression or a sense that something just isn't quite right. Perhaps you're struggling with relationships, or trying to deal with a loss or a trauma in your life. Patterns may keep repeating and you don't know how to change them. At times, we all need extra support; there are lots of reasons why people come in to counselling. I work in an Integrative way, to help you to unpick complex feelings you may have about yourself and the way you live now.

Do you want to feel happier? Do you suffer with anxiety, depression, feeling sad or low self esteem? Maybe you feel stuck and have lost yourself? Sometimes there is a specific reason and we know what is making us feel that way, other times it appears there is no reason at all. Counselling can help unpick whats going on, identify those thoughts and for it to feel less overwhelming in a safe and non judgmental way.

Therapy can be different things to different people; it can be about focusing on changing a specific behaviour, learning to manage emotions or wanting a space to explore experiences, get understanding and make meaning. It can be all of these things or something completely different. My strength is in the less directive, exploration work; helping clients to understand their world and why they feel, think, behave the ways that they do. With this insight, I can help you to find ways to change old patterns and move forwards in a direction towards the life you want to live.

Relationship Issues Counsellors
While need for human connection appears to be innate, the ability to form healthy, loving relationships is learned. Some evidence suggests that the ability to form a stable relationship starts to form in infancy, in a child's earliest experiences with a caregiver who reliably meets the infant's needs for food, care, warmth, protection, stimulation, and social contact. Such relationships are not destiny, but they are theorized to establish deeply ingrained patterns of relating to others. The end of a relationship, however, is often a source of great psychological anguish.
