I run a small private practice alongside my NHS work, offering longer term weekly psychotherapy. There is no specific list of difficulties people come with. Distress can express itself in our lives many ways, through our bodies, minds, feelings, relationships (or lack of) or in illness. I work with people who feel they would benefit from developing a better understanding of their patterns of relating to themselves and others.

I will offer you the time, privacy and support required to explore aspects of your life you may feel you need to understand better or areas in which you would like to grow. Somewhere impartial and unconnected with your everyday life and as someone with who you can share thoughts and feelings. I work with a wide variety of clients and utilise an integrative modality; meaning that I draw from a variety of therapeutic approaches and techniques. These include CBT (Cognitive Behavioural Therapy), Person-Centred Therapy, Gestalt, Transactional Analysis and a number of others to meet each clients individual needs. No two clients are the same, therefore no two session plans are either. I work with each client towards their ideal goal and future self.

Hi, I'm an integrative counsellor and I draw from relational approaches including person centred, with the aim to create conditions of trust, safety and honesty and a collaborative working relationship where clients might feel free to establish and work towards their own goals. I value difference and individuality and may draw on a number of other approaches to best fit the person or the presenting issue. Counselling may feel like a big step and it can feel challenging but it can also help to enhance self-awareness, self-understanding and begin to create the possibility for different choices, or simply self-acceptance.

Alongside being a counsellor I work as a youth worker supporting young people navigate difficult moments in their life. Many of these skills have been transferable into the counselling field especially the person centered relationship. I always work with a person from where they are at putting their needs, wants and wishes at the heart of the work we do. As well as working with young people I have specific experience of working with women presenting with anxiety, attachment difficulties, trauma, bereavement and relationship difficulties. Navigating life transitions is challenging and I hope I can be part of supporting this process.

Hi, I'm Alanna. I'm an Art Psychotherapist. The therapy session is a time set aside for you to express yourself openly and freely so as to be able to have space to really get to know yourself better. I offer a non judgemental space where we can think and explore together whatever it is that feels present for you. My approach is Psychodynamic, this involves being curious about how the past shapes the way we experience ourselves now in the present, as well as in our relationships and our way of being in the world.
