I specialise in narcissistic abuse in relationships and the workplace. I work with anxiety and trauma alongside the dissociation from emotions this can cause. I have worked with survivors of domestic violence and bereaved families within a hospice setting. I also work for a society with worldwide clients recovering from narcissistic abuse. Exploring variations from your personal life within therapy is hugely important as I believe that no client is the same; regardless of whether they are experiencing loss, anxiety or an abusive narcissistic relationship.

I am a Trauma-informed, accredited UKCP psychotherapist and EMDR practitioner with 20+ yrs experience. I work with symptoms: depression, anxiety, sleeplessness, panic attacks, mistrust, hypervigilance, hopelessness, self-destructive behaviour, loss of sense of self. These are all symptoms of something deeper and we can work to alleviate these symptoms by working with the deeper issues that cause these. These symptoms are often caused by: abuse - sexual, psychological or emotional; neglect; loss; relationships; bullying; illness and many other 'normal' life events which can leave us not living our life fully.

Most clients that I see are suffering with anxiety, depression and stress. Most of this is caused by underlying issues such as low self-esteem, relationships issues and addiction to name a few. We're often aware of what our problems are but do not feel able to cope and need some support. Distressing situations and feelings can have such a destructive impact on our lives and therapy works by accepting your feelings, helping you to gain a different perspective, whilst challenging old negative beliefs; so you can move forward with a happier and healthier outlook on life.

This means that the way I work draws from a number of different approaches to therapy (humanistic, psychodynamic, existential, transpersonal, somatic).
I'm experienced in supporting clients to come through experiences of anxiety, depression and many other common issues that prompt people to seek therapy. I also have a strong clinical interest in the spiritual and this extends to so-called altered states of consciousness and the integration of experiences of this nature.

I'm a transpersonal integrative psychotherapist, and have provided therapeutic support for clients who have experienced a range of issues including: abuse, childhood neglect, addictions, low self-esteem, self-harm, narcissistic abuse and wounding, weakened sense of self, anxiety, depression, low confidence, and trauma related issues. I feel the work that I do with my clients aligns with Carl Jung's statement "it is a privilege of a lifetime to become who you truly are." I believe that psychotherapy is a process that supports this, through self awareness and understanding one's life experiences, one can heal and transform.

Hi, my name is Rosie Heartland. I am a qualified Transpersonal Arts Therapist and counsellor. In this post pandemic world, many people are suffering from anxiety, depression and the trauma brought on by not only the insecurities of these times, but also by adverse childhood experiences. Taking that leap to enter into therapy is very difficult and I understand how scary the thought of opening up to a stranger can be. I hope to offer you compassion, understanding and a listening ear, so you feel at ease within our therapeutic relationship and your well-being goals can be addressed through non-threatening Creative therapy.

Waitlist for new clients
I'm an integrative transpersonal therapist.
There are many reasons you might be looking for therapy or counselling: you might be feeling low, anxious or have a particular life problem you are finding overwhelming - grief, heartbreak, or trauma. Perhaps you feel ready to break out of an old pattern or make a change, or build your self esteem, learning to love who you already are, with all your imperfections, vulnerabilities, and beauty. But if you are seeking therapy, you are probably suffering - perhaps I can listen, and share that burden with you. I wonder if, together, we could put the pieces of your story together and find our way through the underworld, back to your life.

As a relational, somatic and transpersonal therapist, I have a creative and intuitive approach which is trauma-informed and values the whole of your being.
Most of my clients come to therapy because they don’t feel in charge of their lives and feel stuck, lost and innerly torn, often accompanied by anxieties and low moods or mood swings. Many times this is related to earlier trauma and attachment-based issues. I intend to create a safe space for you to unpack what is at the root of your distress and help you connect with your feelings, values, beliefs and your body. I have deep respect for what has gotten you this far as well as the patterns you want to change and the direction you want to shift your life into. This can be a path of liberation, empowerment and deep self-connection.

I am an experienced psychotherapist practicing an integrative style that draws on the four main theoretical approaches to therapy; psychodynamic (early-life relationships), humanistic (relationship with self), existential (perspectives on life), as well as transpersonal - involving somatic, mindful and creative ways of processing complex material.
Looking for a change in your life? Feeling low, anxious, or stressed? Do you struggle with your relationships? Is there trauma or difficult experience in your past that you would like to process? Would you like to understand your thoughts and behaviours in greater depth?

I integrate traditional approaches (CBT, ACT, Psychodynamic) with body-oriented & transpersonal approaches (Breathwork, EFT, Focusing, Ecotherapy, Mindfulness, Art therapy) to help clients find deeper embodied change.
At times we find it hard to navigate life with our own resources alone. You might be going through existential-spiritual crises or resurfaced childhood traumas and heartbreaks. I am here to support you with compassion, presence and understanding. I specialise in supporting creative women to build confidence in their identity, creative work & business. I also offer Faith Based Counselling, Art Therapy & Coaching.

As an Integrative Transpersonal Counsellor, I join each client on a journey to find a place where past and present experiences meet.
Do you feel the need for a change but the thought of it makes you anxious? Do people around you seem not to be able to see who you truly are? Are you questioning your sexuality or gender? Does it feel as if you constantly need to justify yourself? As a member of the LGBTQ+ community myself, I’m familiar with the struggles around sexuality and/or gender. If this is something you’re facing, I can walk the path of self-acceptance with you over rough or smooth terrains.

Transpersonal Counsellors

How does transpersonal therapy work?

Transpersonal therapy focuses on a patient’s spirituality and meaning in life. Transpersonal therapists might borrow from Eastern traditions as well as Western psychology. They may incorporate techniques including meditation, visualisation, hypnotherapy, dream analysis, and or breathwork to produce altered states of consciousness. The therapist helps the patient to access their consciousness and spirituality to work through difficult mental states.

How long does transpersonal therapy last?

Because the goal is to understand a person as a whole, including their spirituality, treatment can range from months to a year or beyond. While patients learn the philosophy behind transpersonal therapy during treatment, they can also practice its principles throughout life after therapy sessions have ended.

Is transpersonal therapy effective?

Patients have found success with transpersonal therapy; this method is useful in improving anxiety, depression, self-esteem, identity, fears, relationship problems, and other concerns. Improvements in problem areas can continue even after transpersonal therapy ends, as individuals can utilise the tools they’ve learned during treatment sessions.

What are the limitations of transpersonal therapy?

There is some research on the effectiveness of transpersonal therapy, but empirical support for this therapy approach is sparse. It does not have the robust evidence base of other forms of therapy, such as cognitive behavioural therapy or acceptance and commitment therapy.
