Hello, and a warm welcome to my profile. I understand how difficult this first step can feel when you may already be feeling overwhelmed by personal struggles. If your feeling nervous, that's okay and perfectly understandable. I too have experienced this first step, but also the enrichment and transformation that can come by freeing the self from feeling stuck in personal struggles. As a Counsellor & Trauma Specialist I am passionate about supporting people to overcome internal challenges and work towards self-healing, by working together to deeply understand whatever is going on for you, causing discomfort in body & mind.

A good healthy relationship can enrich our lives and and provide a deep sense of fulfilment, both emotionally and physically. When relationships are not working we often feel frustrated, and confused with measurable consequences on our lives and those around us.There are many reasons why relationships become difficult or unmanageable These may be because of poor communication, arguments that are repeated or never resolved, trust issues, an affair or life stage transitions such as having children, divorce, blended families, bereavement or retirement.

If you have been feeling overwhelmed tired and withdrawn from your daily life and in need of someone to listen to you. To understand you without feeling judged or being told what you should or shouldn't do, then person-centred therapy can work with you to understand these thoughts and feelings. You choose what it is you want to work on and we work at a pace that is right for you and where you are at in life. If you're a parent and are feeling your child has been through a tough time recently or they have been acting different I work with them using play materials to provide a safe and trusting setting.

Do you struggle with the voice inside your head that tells you you're stupid, ugly, pretending to be someone you're not? Do you want to change this voice?. Through person-centred therapy, working with the issues my children were mirroring for me and offering myself compassion, working with my neurodivergence instead of rejecting it and shaming myself I managed to heal this and recover from narcissistic relationships. This is your time, I truly believe you can reach your full potential like I did with the conditions my own therapist provided, just like a flower I bloomed, you can too!

I have 15 years experience working with young people whom present with various anxiety disorders, depressive episodes, OCD and trauma. I was once “a young cool practitioner” within NHS services and have since worked for a private service. I must admit I am no longer the “young cool one” but instead “middle aged, experienced practitioner/ therapist”.

I work with men mainly (but anybody) who struggles with anger issues. Do you struggle with your anger? Wonder why you get so angry so quickly, going from 0 to 100 within a split second? Ever wanted to work on this because it has ruined relationships, you may have lost a job through your anger or lost friends/family because they can't deal with your outbursts? If this is you then I want to help you. Anger can make us lonely and unhappy - let me help you deal with it in a more healthy way so you can become a happier person in yourself and build those relationships you may have lost/ruined.

Female Counsellors
Does it matter what gender my therapist is?
In general, this is not an important factor, as there is no relationship between a therapist’s gender and their efficacy. Some clients, however, prefer to see therapists of a particular gender, whether due to their own past experiences with men and women, or ingrained beliefs about how people of different genders think and behave. Exploring the roots of such preferences and considering what one wants to address in therapy can help someone determine whether their therapist’s gender truly matters to them.
Should I see a female therapist?
Many people—not just women—prefer to see a female therapist, either because they believe that a woman will be able to relate to their specific challenges (for example, sexism in the workplace) or because they imagine feeling more comfortable disclosing sensitive information to a woman. Such beliefs may not turn out to be accurate, however, and adhering too rigidly to a gender preference can at times hinder a client from finding the best therapeutic match.
Do therapists get specific training to help with women’s concerns?
Therapists are trained to provide care to clients of any gender. However, some therapists—both men and women—may pursue additional training in feminist therapy, gender-specific issues, or women’s mental health. Female clients may wish to ask prospective therapists whether they have received specific training in the client’s primary area(s) of concern, or whether they have worked extensively with women on issues similar to their own.
How can I inquire about a therapist’s experience in treating women?
It’s OK—even encouraged!—to ask a therapist directly whether and how often they have treated women in the past, or whether they have treated women dealing with the client’s most prominent concern(s). Competent therapists will be happy to share their educational background, preferred treatment modalities, and prior client experience to help an individual find the therapist best suited to their needs.
