We live in a culture that promotes the idea of strong, powerful individuals who live picture perfect lives. There is little room for showing our vulnerability, or our need for connection. There is a cultural expectation that when things are difficult for us we should just 'get over it' and not make a fuss, this might manifest in you with thoughts of "what's wrong with me", "why is this so hard" and "I should be able to manage by myself" and so on! You may be feeling fragmented, disconnected, numb, overwhelmed, fearful, unable to cope, you might feel like giving up.

"I am fascinated about Humans' ability to heal their emotional wounds when they feel supported and accompanied on their personal path. We all have greater potential and resources than we think. A lot of the times it is difficult to access these, for various reasons. Therapy helps us explore the ways we relate to ourselves and others. It is a journey towards finding / becoming yourself".

I understand it takes a lot of courage for many people to come to therapy perhaps for the first time or even on each visit, I provide a counselling/psychological therapy service from my home in Westbury Park Bristol which is a safe space and where you will receive a warm welcome. I endeavour to shape the therapy to meet my client’s needs rather than just come from one theory (I do not believe in one size fits all); hence I have an eclectic approach to my work drawn from many years experience in many different settings.

Whether working online or face to face, I aim to provide you with a warm, safe, confidential space where I will walk alongside you to understand what you're going through, what you need and how we can best work together to achieve your goals. If you're feeling depressed, or need to address a difficult issue in your life, I can deliver a bespoke programme of therapeutic counselling. This will afford you opportunities to challenge yourself and develop fresh outlooks and perspectives for the benefit of finding new meaning and direction in your life. My counselling style is primarily 'person-centred'. This means I can offer sensitive flexibility for young people and adults who feel they'd benefit from a less structured and more exploratory alternative to the the CBT programmes typically offered by schools, employers and the NHS.

I work with both individuals and couples. As an individual, some sudden event may have thrown you into crisis and challenged your ability to cope. This might include, a difficulty in a relationship; a loss/bereavement of some kind; or a change that has resulted in stress/anxiety and a feeling of being destabilised. Alternatively you may be suffering from a more general, on-going struggle to see any direction or purpose. A feeling of being disconnected from yourself and others and of there being very little enjoyment in your life.

I work with people who are you feeling anxious or depressed or uncertain how to live in a way that feels satisfying. With people who have suffered bereavement, the end of a relationship or who are struggling with relationships that aren't working and leave them feeling unhappy. With people who are unhappy at work and feel stuck in a job that isn't what they'd hoped it would be, a job that's too challenging or not challenging enough. With people who are struggling with ways of being sexual, who find it hard to have the kind of sexual relationships they want, to know how to begin, negotiate or end intimate sexual relationships.

I offer one-to-one counselling for clients who are going through difficult circumstances & feel ready to make a change in their life. I'll work with you to develop understanding of your behaviours, which I believe is important if we want to make progress. I prefer not to focus my work on specialisms, though I have a particular interest in clients struggling with their identity, relationships and anxiety.

Core Process Psychotherapy is built on an embodied exploration and sharing of how it is to be uniquely you. All is welcome in the room; together as therapist and client we build a bond of safety and security. By slowing down and taking some refuge from life’s momentum, we can bring awareness to every passing moment, whatever arises.

I've been conducting therapies with adults and adolescents both Turkish and English. I mostly use CBT and Mindfulness to help my clients. I work on anxiety, depression, anger management, social anxiety, health anxiety, relationship problems as well as other mental health problems. When necessary, I use Solution Focused Therapy techniques which help patients to see their strong sides to achieve the desired goals and some Art Therapy techniques so that my clients can open up easier and see the things they are not aware of.

Feeling stuck is more common than you might think. Your thoughts are piling up, and it feels like the harder you try to sort them out, the more tangled they become. It's natural to cling on to old stuff because it feels safe or familiar, or perhaps you can't quite pinpoint what's up. These moments often show up disguised as stress, overwhelm, feeling low or as a constant state of anxiety. There might be signs physically and mentally, telling you it's time for something different. You might also be searching for a new playlist for your mind, wondering if it's even possible as everything seems to be stuck on loop.
