Your possibly feeling overwhelmed, emotional, confused and worried about how you are thinking, feeling and if you are ever going to get "better". Anxious about talking to a stranger, particularly about something so personal to you, and maybe low because you need to do this. Hi I'm Carol, I know choosing the right counsellor for you can be one of the hardest decisions you can make when you are struggling. I'd would like to say how brave I think you are in taking this first step, it takes a lot of courage to admit that you may not be able to do it alone and need a little help to get you where you want to be.

Making the decision to seek help is a strength, not a sign of weakness, by acknowledging that you have reached the point of needing additional support. The first step is always the most difficult but I can support you as you embark on your journey to strive for change. Finding the right counsellor is really important as you need to feel comfortable enough to share your vulnerability and know that you will be accepted and not judged. I believe that everyone deserves to have a safe, confidential space where they can feel respected and heard. I work with individuals, couples and groups of up to four people over the age of 18.

Life is a journey of discovery of the self, and diversity is the beauty of this world. Who a person is and what makes them happy is unique and most of the time different from others. Being truthful to self brings resilience, but even so, life can be a continuous challenge. Maybe right now you feel you are on the journey of self-discovery, or you want to start it. Perhaps, you are facing some new or old challenges in life that you want to overcome, control, get the better outcome of it, or get over it. Or you want to make some sense of some old matters that still influence your life, or to take control of some ongoing ones.

Hi – my name is Jo. I’m a Counselling Psychotherapist and I work with adults and young people. Sometimes life will present us with challenges and difficulties that we struggle to make sense of, or that make us feel stuck and unable to move forward positively. Not knowing what to do or how to be when we have these experiences can create a diverse set of uncomfortable feelings. Its different for everyone...whilst one person may feel overwhelmed or isolated, another may struggle with anger, anxiety or depression. Perhaps this sounds like you?

Confronting your mental health, accepting you need support and reaching out for help is a courageous step. I completely understand that the first step can be daunting and we will work together at a pace that suits you. I will spend as much time as you need explaining how I work and the methods I use. Your initial consultation will be about us getting to know each other, the emotions you’re experiencing; how they make you feel and how they are affecting your life and well-being. We will complete an assessment together which will allow an individually tailored treatment programme to be planned specifically for you.

I have extensive experience working with as a therapist online. I work with client´s with specific issues like anxiety and PTSD but also with client who struggle to feel empty as if life lacks moments of happiness or fulfilment. Often it is helpful to understand our current difficulties through exploring past experiences and how they may have impacted upon us. Some people prefer not to think too much about the past, rather focus on managing the day to day. Everyone is different and part of the process is working out what feels most helpful for you.

Choosing to have counselling is an important decision and deciding who to work with even more so. It is important you feel your therapist is the ‘right one’ for you - that you will feel safe and able to trust them and their work. I have worked with a wide variety of clients and helped people work though issues such as bereavement, anxiety, depression, neurodiversity, trauma and relationship problems. I understand what it is to feel swamped by life and the struggles it can entail and I have many hours of experience helping others navigate a safe path through their issues. I am committed to helping you make the changes you desire.

Many of us find parts of our lives difficult. Sometimes feelings can linger and interfere with our day-to-day functioning; impacting what is meaningful to us. Exploring these difficulties in a supportive space can enable you to understand them better and help you to work towards feeling better. I specifically work with individuals who have difficulty regulating their emotion, interpersonal issues and struggle to stay in the here and now by ruminating on the past or worrying about the future.
