Welcome. Everyone has times in life when their mental health is particularly challenging and they face emotional or psychological difficulties. If that describes you here and now, it can be helpful to seek support to become more aware of the impact of past life experiences, how those events still influence how you are in the world today and explore your thoughts and feelings around options for making changes in the future. Your issues, needs and goals could arise from your working life, personal life or a combination of both. You could be looking for more immediate help or seeking to better understand deeper, long-standing issues.

My approach in sessions is centred on you, focusing on the here and now, current situations and difficulties you are experiencing. How you are feeling and behaving at present is often linked to past experiences which remain unresolved and continue to impact on your health and well-being today. Our sessions are based on respect, compassion, empathy and honesty. I will support you in exploring your reasons for wanting therapy, within a non-judgmental environment. By creating a safe, open and genuine relationship with you, we can together find ways to deal with the difficulties you are experiencing. The age range I work with is 18+.

At some stage, you will probably experience feelings of stress, disappointment and grief. At these times, seeking assistance can help you deal with your feelings and emotions. Counselling can be a positive way of addressing any unresolved issues that you have. It can help you to understand your problems better, rather than ignoring them and hoping that they will go away, only for them to come back later. It can also give you a better understanding of other people's points of view.

I am a solution focused counsellor, my training derives from the understanding that when essential emotional needs are met, a human being will be emotionally and mentally healthy.. its when our emotional needs are not being met or are unintentionally misused that undesirable mental states such as: anxiety, anger, depression, addiction and psychosis develop., for instance, misuse of the imagination - to conjure up the worst possible or threatening scenarios-is a common feature of all these states. I aim to work through how you got to this point in your life, to help support you in finding new ways to move forward and embrace life.

I found my way to being a Psychologist because I am deeply curious about people and what makes us ‘tick’ and I struggle to see suffering without doing something to help. For most of my week, I work for the NHS in the Complex Needs Service, with people who have experienced trauma and who have complex emotional needs. I am also a DBT Therapist in our NHS Trust’s small DBT Service. Whether you're looking for help with serious mental health difficulties or you're just feeling stuck and struggling with motivation, Psychological Therapy can help!

“The wound is the place where the Light enters you.” — Rumi Therapy is a tool to resolve the challenges in your life, to help you feel more confident and more in control, providing insight and showing you a path through the experiences that are part of being human. Life can put you in a lonely place, maybe too hard to cope with, complicated, challenging or confusing. I offer you the space for your story to be told, heard and understood in a confidential, non-judgmental safe space. There is nothing that cannot be "worked with and worked through".

Hi, I offer a safe, friendly, and relaxed space for healing and change. Emotional struggle can happen at any time in life, to anyone, and for many reasons which are not always clear. During these times feeling lost, empty, lonely, stuck or despairing, can be overwhelming, I am here to offer support. As feelings are unique to each of us, I work openly with clients, to understand their individual experience and needs. I aim to create a supportive relationship where clients feel heard, understood, and accepted; where emotions can be openly spoken, explored, and valued.

The way we are can madden us, our minds repeatedly returning to anxious, painful or critical thoughts. It can feel as though we are getting nowhere, or, more frustratingly, that we get in our own way, stumbling against familiar issues and destructive behaviours. We can appear to ourselves like outsiders, like there is nowhere that we belong and as if we are less than who we hoped we’d be. Issues emerge of perfectionism, anger, despair, lack of confidence – we understand that self-worth is important, but how do we attain it? Especially in a world which won’t validate us. Our attention may turn inwards, but it’s rarely kind.

I am a HCPC registered chartered Clinical Psychologist, working both within the NHS in adult community mental health settings and Private Practice. I have experience of working psychologically with clients across the lifespan and have a specialist interest in working with complex trauma, feelings of shame/self criticism and emotion regulation difficulties. I primarily work within a Compassion Focused Therapy and Psychodynamic Framework; however, I utilise principles from Cognitive Behavioural Therapy and Dialectical Behaviour Therapy to compliment this.

If you don't feel you're in a good place yourself, you've come to the right place. Counselling is for all sorts of issues, from experiencing "uncomfortable thoughts" which are making it hard to function as well as you usually do, to severe and crippling symptoms. Remember, there's no reason to think you are "stuck" permanently how you are. My first session is free, so you can try it out for yourself with no risk or obligation. See my website: www.worcester-counsellor.co.uk for more.

Reasons for having Counselling: You might be struggling with your mood – stress, anxiety, fight and flight, overwhelmed. You tend to focus on others, and their needs, to the detriment of your own - in your relationships and career. It might feel like you’re in a vicious cycle. There is a way out. My approach: A solution-focused approach, embedded in well-established therapies – CBT, Psychodynamic therapy and EMDR. I encourage having clear goals and collaboration for better outcomes. I specialised in brief work, focusing on a particular issue.

I work in private practice and in Secondary schools with many mental health issues such as anxiety, self-harm, low mood, gender dysphoria, self-esteem and confidence. In this difficult world, especially after lockdown, there are so many teenagers struggling emotionally and it is affecting confidence, friendships, family life and school. They want to understand how to understand and manage these emotions in order to be able to process them and move forward. I also work with SEND young people, struggling to understand themselves and why they may struggle emotionally.

Life can be really complex and often overwhelming, leaving us at times feeling isolated and alone, even when we are surrounded by people. As such there might be many different reasons why people come into counselling. Sometimes the issues we experience have clear causes and explanations and at other times it might feel less obvious and harder therefore to identify. What I would hope to offer you is a place that feels safe, supportive and confidential where you are able to explore whatever it is for you personally that you want to address without fear of judgement and criticism.

Hello, my name is Lou and I am passionate about helping people find themselves again. If you are going through a difficult time, don't be alone, we can face whatever you are struggling with together. I listen with an empathic approach offering reflection and support when needed. I understand how challenging life can become and will support you in finding the power to achieve a more satisfying life. I believe everyone deserves to explore their feelings in a safe space feeling heard, understood and respected because I think each individual has their own answers. Enquiring about therapy is the first step to recovery.
